Judge rules George Floyd was not dead after altercation with Derek Chauvin

A federal judge has granted attorneys representing Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who placed his knee on George Floyd’s neck, permission to re-examine heart tissue and body fluids from the autopsy of Floyd.

The lawyers claims that Floyd died from a pre-existing heart condition and not from Chauvin kneeling on his neck.

Infowars.com reports: U.S. District Judge Paul Magnuson issued the order on Monday in response to Chauvin’s latest effort to overturn his 2022 federal conviction where he was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison.

In December 2023, Chauvin was stabbed 22 times by a fellow inmate who at one time served as an FBI informant.

A court filing by Chauvin’s lawyers points out Floyd was alive when he arrived at the hospital, stating his “antemortem blood was collected” on May 25, 2020.

With the story back in the news, many social media users are sharing screenshots of the original Floyd autopsy report that revealed he suffered “no life-threatening injuries,” but did have 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his system.

According to the Delaware Department of Justice, any Fentanyl concentration greater than 3 ng/ml can be enough to contribute the drug to a person’s death.

Chauvin currently hopes to overturn his federal conviction after alleging he previously had “ineffective assistance of counsel.”
