The heir to the British throne, Prince William, is ‘anxious to manage his uncle’ before his father, King Charles dies according to a royal biographer.
Prince William is preparing to confront the long-running problem posed by his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as old, damaging documents and new allegations emerge.
Sky News reports: Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has claimed the Prince of Wales views the former Duke of York as a growing liability and wants decisive action taken sooner rather than later.

“He’s going to be no longer protected. William is going to deal with him,” Mr Lownie said, arguing the future king wants the situation addressed before the reign of King Charles ends.

According to the author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Prince William is keen to “clean the stables” and ensure the monarchy enters its next chapter without unresolved scandals hanging over it.
“He wants the stables cleaned … the window dressing is that Andrew will leave by the spring, and he’s a good boy, and he’s done what he’s been told,” Mr Lownie claimed.
The biographer suggested any transition would be far from smooth, warning the disgraced royal would resist efforts to curtail his lifestyle and status.
He will “go kicking and screaming, demanding a pretty big house, extensive staff, a gardener, a driver, a housekeeper, and a cook,” Mr Lownie said.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has remained largely absent from public royal life, keeping away from Norfolk over Christmas while other family members attended traditional festivities at Sandringham.
His daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, appeared alongside senior royals at the annual Christmas church service, while their father stayed away for the second year running.
The Duke of York’s isolation has deepened as renewed focus falls on his past links to disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein, with fresh material continuing to emerge.
