US Representative Calls For Lindsay Clancy’s Public Execution: ‘A Warning To Women Everywhere’

Fact checked by The People's Voice Community

South Carolina Rep. Nancy mace declared that Lindsay Clancy—the Massachusetts mother who strangled her three young children to death with exercise bands—deserves the death penalty, and she wants it done publicly.

“Her children are dead,” Mace told TMZ. “She should be dead, too.” Mace didn’t stop there. She called for a public execution, saying it should serve as a deterrent. “It should be a warning to women everywhere,” she said. “You don’t kill your kids.”

When asked about her preferred method of execution, Mace listed options without hesitation. “It could be by firearm. It could be electric chair,” she said. “I don’t really care.”

Mace: “Mental Illness Is Not an Excuse”

The congresswoman rejected the insanity defense outright.

“Murdering your children—one by one—is unhinged,” Mace posted on X. “Mental illness is an explanation but it is not an excuse.”

She went further: “A woman who murders her children with her bare hands is not a victim.”

Massachusetts abolished the death penalty decades ago, meaning Clancy faces a maximum of life without parole if retried and convicted. Mace’s call for execution is, in practical terms, rhetorical—but that’s not stopping her.
