Desperate Bono Says Conservatives Are Allowed to Return to U2 Concerts: “Please Come to Our Stadium Tour”

After years of treating conservative Americans like moral lepers, U2 frontman Bono is now begging conservative Americans to come back and fill his stadium seats.

In a stunning display of rock-star desperation, Bono told The New York Times this week that he wants conservative fans to return to U2 shows, whining that he “just don’t want to put off good people who vote conservative” . He even claimed the Republican Party has been “hijacked” and that he wants to “invite them back”.

Invite them back? He never had the guts to formally ban them—but his contempt was loud and clear.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?

For years, Bono has used his massive platform to lecture Middle America about everything from climate change to immigration, always with the smug certainty of a man who flies private jets to climate conferences. In 2016, Bono said U2 would not release any new music until Donald Trump resigned. He banned President Trump from U2 shows in 2017, telling the Irish press that while Trump voters were technically allowed in, the president himself was not welcome.

That distinction aged like milk in the sun—because the message to conservatives was unmistakable: We tolerate you, but we despise everything you stand for.

Then came February 2026. U2 released “American Obituary,” a song dedicated to Renée Good, the Minneapolis woman shot by an ICE agent after she attempted to flee a lawful immigration operation. The lyrics painted her as a martyr and implied America was a “lie.” The response from conservatives was swift and merciless.

MAGA commentator Jack Posobiec blasted the band. One account with over 64,000 followers summed up the sentiment perfectly: “Bono f—ing sucks! U2 f—ing suck!! Go back to Ireland. We don’t want you”.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade piled on, telling Bono to worry about Ireland’s own problems before judging America .

Now, just eight months later—with a massive new stadium tour to sell and a new album, Carnaval De Luz, dropping November 13—Bono suddenly remembers conservatives exist. He’s discovered that maybe, just maybe, insulting half the country wasn’t a great business model .

This isn’t an olive branch. It’s a cash grab.

Bono called this moment “the greatest heist in the history of the world”—but the only heist happening here is the lead singer of a legacy band trying to pick your wallet after spending a decade calling you a bigot .

The tour kicks off in February 2027 in Mexico City, with dates in South America and, you guessed it, North America to be announced soon . Those stadiums don’t fill themselves. And after the MAGA base made it abundantly clear that U2’s political preaching was unwelcome, Bono is now trying to gaslight conservatives into thinking he never really meant it.

He says people vote conservative “for all kinds of reasons that are OK” . How generous. How magnanimous. How utterly transparent.

Here’s a radical idea for Bono: if you want conservative fans to come back, stop releasing songs that trash their country and honor people who fight law enforcement. Stop lecturing them from the stage. Stop pretending that “inviting them back” is some kind of heroic act of charity.

Until then, the only thing U2 will be playing to is half-empty arenas and the sound of crickets from the fans he spent years pushing away.

Enjoy the silence, Bono. You earned it
