Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson Resigns

Darren Wilson the Ferguson officer who fatally shot black teenager Michael Brown, has resigned from the Ferguson police department, his attorney said.

The news comes amid unceasing protests against a grand jury decision clearing Wilson of murder charges.

The resignation is effective immediately, AP Neil Bruntrager one of Wilson’s lawyers said. He declined further immediate comment but said he would release more details Saturday night.

Prior to the resignation, Wilson was on administrative leave from the Ferguson Police Department since the August 9 shooting of Brown.
