A Democratic candidate for Ohio attorney general has openly admitted that he plans on killing President Donald Trump.
Ohioan Elliot Forhan said he plans to place Trump on trial and seek the death penalty if he wins office.
A video posted to Facebook this week shows state AG candidate Elliot Forhan making the stunning declaration while discussing his campaign.
Dailymail.co.uk reports: ‘I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump,’ Forhan said in a now viral campaign video.
‘I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt based on evidence presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment.’
‘That is what I mean when I say I am going to kill Donald Trump,’ Forhan concluded after smiling towards the camera.
Forhan served in the Ohio House of Representatives for less than a year. The rustbelt Democratic candidate previously worked for Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign.
His one term in the Ohio House was marred by controversy after he was stripped of his committee assignments over allegations of physical altercations with other lawmakers.
Following the murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Forhan mocked his death by writing, ‘F**k Charlie Kirk.’ Back in February 2025, Forhan announced his campaign for Ohio attorney general race.
‘Obviously this is a deranged individual, and we will refer all press inquiries to the United States Secret Service,’ White House spokesman Steven Cheung told the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail reached out to the Secret Service for comment.
Forhan’s video message resulted in condemnation from Republican rivals across the state.
Ohio Auditor Keith Faber, who is running against Forhan for attorney general, called his remarks ‘vile’ and demanded other state Democrats condemn Forhan’s comments.
‘My Democrat opponent for Attorney General just came out and said he wanted to kill President Trump,’ said Faber. ‘That kind of vile comment makes it clear that Elliot Forhan is not qualified to be Attorney General.’
Faber also called on Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton to disavow Forhan’s comments.
Faber called on Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton to denounce Forhan. He was joined by Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy who called Acton’s silence ‘utterly shameful.’
Ramaswamy, a former 2024 presidential candidate and Trump loyalist, said that Ohio Democrats refusal to condemn Forhan means they ‘implicitly endorse’ his message to kill the president.
The Daily Mail reached out to Acton’s campaign for comment.
Trump decisively won Ohio by 11-points during the 2024 election against Kamala Harris, marking his third straight presidential victory in the state.
