US President Donald Trump has warned that open border policies and “suicidal energy ideas” will be “the death of Western Europe,” insisting that something must be done immediately to reverse course.
Speaking on the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Trump called for countries to close their borders and expel foreigners, acccusing the UN of leading a “globalist migration agena”
During his speech to the UN General assemby on Tuesday, he accused European countries specifically of ‘destroying their heritage’ and allowing international migration because of misplaced “political correctness”.
”This cannot be sustained,” he said calling the crisis of uncontrolled migration “the number one political issue of our time.”
“Your countries are being ruined,” he also said, pointing to UN programs that he said provide food, shelter and debit cards to fund migrant journeys to the United States. “The UN is funding an assault on Western countries”.
He said ”What makes the world so beautiful is that each country is unique. But to stay this way, every sovereign nation must have the right to control their own borders and to limit the sheer number of migrants entering their countries“
