Tucker Carlson has claimed that Saudi Arabia and Qatar apprehended and “arrested Israeli Mossad agents who were planning bombings in those countries.”
The political commentator and journalist described the incidents as part of a broader effort to destabilize Persian Gulf countries.
“Why would the Israelis be committing bombings in Gulf countries, which are also being attacked by Iran?” Carlson said on his show.
Carlson also claimed that Israel is intentionally seeking to create instability among the US- Arab allies.
Acccording to a report by Al-Jazeera, on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Qatar’s foreign minister said that he had no information about Mossad cells operating withing his country’s borders.
Press TV reports: In remarks delivered during a recent broadcast, which was widely reposted across social media on Monday, Carlson said, “Last night in both Qatar and Saudi Arabia, authorities arrested Mossad agents planning on committing bombings.”
He added, “Now, that wasn’t a risk from the Israeli standpoint.”
Carlson argued that the objective behind the plots was to undermine regional stability.
“They wanted to diminish the [Persian] Gulf, and in two days they have,” he said. “And I think anyone who likes decency and order and cleanliness is hoping that the [Persian] Gulf will recover.”
He stressed that Persian Gulf countries were close partners of the United States, apparently ruling out speculations that Washington has been behind the plots.
“The [Persian] Gulf is not a threat to us. We have military bases in these countries. These are some of our closest allies. All of them are closer allies than Israel, by far.”
“They’re our friends, but they’ve been really hurt,” he continued, turning specifically to Dubai. “And in a place like Dubai, which is basically part of a country, it’s an emirate within the United Arab Emirates, but it’s also a luxury brand, basically.”
By executing such plots against Dubai, he suggested, the Israeli regime would be afflicting considerable harm to the emirate’s economy and tourism revenue.
“It’s got the busiest airport in the world. You start seeing video on Instagram of smoke in Dubai airport, and you’re like, I think I’m going to Cabo this year,” he said. “Whatever. Maybe you go to Sedona this year.”
“It really, really hurts these countries. Israel wanted to hurt these countries. That’s the point. Wanted to hurt these countries. Wanted to sow chaos and disorder, because they are rivals of Israel,” he said.
“Israel wants to hurt Iran and Qatar and UAE and Saudi and Bahrain and Oman and Kuwait.”
The remarks came amid a renewed Israeli-American campaign of aggression targeting the Islamic Republic that has featured the allies’ targeting civilian and defensive infrastructure across the country.
