British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced the establishment of a new government program to “stem the poisonous tide” of disinformation that he claims is causing British people to develop “anti-government sentiment,” sending the government’s approval rating to historic lows.
Burnham claims the British people oppose the government not because of its treasonous globalist policies, but because Russia is manipulating them with “fake news.”
Speaking at the United Nations General assembly on Tuesday, Burnham said the National Centre for Information Defence will “detect, attribute and disrupt” information circulating among the public, blaming foreign influence and AI for the spread of anti-government sentiment in the UK.
The PM blamed the UK government’s historic unpopularity on Russian President Vladimir Putin, who he claims has been exploiting the Brexit movement to divide the British people.
Referencing the classic George Orwell dystopian novel 1984, best-selling UK author and news anchor Mike Graham asked, “Why not call it The Ministry of Truth?”
Several mainstream media outlets and most of those who oppose the new disinformation branch of the UK government have adopted the “Ministry of Truth” label.
At the same time as the British government launches the ministry and cites Russia as a reason it’s necessary, retired British General Sir Richard Shirreff is warning the UK is not ready for a war with the Kremlin and that mandatory military service will be a must if the country is to be prepared for the fight.
Sir Richard told the BBC, “An army of 70,000 is simply not going to cut the mustard in the sort of war we are going to have to face. So I don’t see how we could generate the military capability needed without some form of call-up. There [Norway], every school leaver is registered for conscription… and they go and do a year’s training after which they go on to university and when, later, they are competing for jobs, if they’ve got national service on their CV, they’re seen as the best candidates… That’s the sort of thing we should look at.”
It’s quite obvious that the new government information watchdog will inevitably cry “Russia” when Britons oppose a national conscription to go die in a war with Russia.
