It has been confirmed that Lord Janner will finally appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this afternoon at 2pm.
After his failure to turn up at court this morning, lawyers put in a case for the use of a video link due to his dementia
The hearing was adjourned for a decision to be made on whether the video link would be allowed or he would attend a different court.

The District Judge Emma Arbuthnot expressed impatience with the legal wrangling over the issue and warned that Janner could face arrest.
She dismissed the appeal and promised a ‘humane’ hearing after the arrest threat and also confirmed that, if Lord Janner showed any signs of extreme distress, she would abandon the hearing immediately. Lord Janner will enter courtroom one via a side entrance and will not have to enter the dock.
