A former chief toxicologist for Pfizer told Germany’s pandemic inquiry that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines were not fully assessed for potential cancer-related risks before being widely distributed.
Yet we were told they were ‘safe and effective’.
The inquiry heard that certain safety evaluations were not completed prior to the vaccines being administered to millions of people. According to the former toxicologist, these omissions were due to time constraints, a situation he described as “regrettable.”

Dr. Helmut Sterz, who served as chief toxicologist for Pfizer Europe until 2008, provided this testimony to Germany’s COVID-19 inquiry, known as the Corona Enquete Commission.
During the hearing, Dr. Sterz stated that he had reviewed documents related to the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine, Comirnaty, and had examined publicly available research on its laboratory and human trials, including possible side effects.
When asked whether the vaccine had undergone complete testing before approval, he said that carcinogenic risk had not been investigated due to time limitations, adding that he found the lack of alternative assessments both concerning and regrettable.
