Disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is facing decades behind bars if convicted on rape allegations, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro warned as multiple investigations intensify.
Swalwell resigned from Congress this week amid a cascade of sexual misconduct claims, shortly after suspending his California gubernatorial campaign.
The allegations include violent sexual assault across jurisdictions, with one accuser claiming he drugged, choked, and raped her.

Pirro Warns of Decades in Prison
Edward Snowden Exposes Erika Kirk As "Sleeper CIA Agent" Who Murdered Charlie on Command
“Let’s just put it this way,” Pirro told the Daily Wire. “Based upon an allegation that’s already been made of possibly drugging, choking, and then raping a woman. You’re talking about decades in prison.”
Her office is reviewing tips received since the allegations surfaced. “We’ve gotten some, but we’re trying to make sense as to whether or not they involve this jurisdiction or whether they involve a crime at all,” Pirro said. “We have to go through a process where we actually review that and not just count the numbers.”
Pirro urged victims or witnesses to come forward, emphasizing the need for credible information tied to D.C.
Multiple Probes Target Swalwell
One claim involves an alleged 2018 incident in West Hollywood, California. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, led by Alvin Bragg, is investigating additional accusations. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is also probing the California claims.
Accuser’s Stark Testimony
Model Lonna Drewes publicly accused Swalwell of sexual assault.
“He raped me, and he choked me,” Drewes said. “And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness. And I thought I died. I did not consent to any sexual activity.”
She attributed her delayed report to fear: “My delay in taking action against Eric was driven by fear, not doubt. Fear of his political power, his background as an attorney, and his family law enforcement ties.”Drewes said the alleged rape occurred while Swalwell’s “wife was pregnant.”
Swalwell Denies Claims
Swalwell has denied the criminal accusations. He stated he “will fight the serious, false allegation made against me,” while acknowledging past “mistakes in judgment.”
Five individuals have now publicly accused him of misconduct, including inappropriate messages and images.
Pirro Slams Washington Accountability Failures
Pirro highlighted deeper systemic issues: “The old boy network is alive and well, and it is infuriating, especially with someone like me who’s been prosecuting these cases since the early ’80s. There is silence, and there is secrecy, and unfortunately, there’s a failure by Congress to hold its own members accountable.”
She pointed to the power imbalance: “But when you think about it, who has more power than someone in Congress? This is an incredible imbalance in the power between a perpetrator and a victim. This has to stop.”
As probes continue across jurisdictions, Swalwell’s rapid fall from leading gubernatorial contender to facing potential felony charges leaves his political future in ruins.
