Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov has said that Russia will vow to fulfil all its upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup preparation commitments.

He said that delays will not affect Russia’s commitments and the preparations for the World Cup will be on time.

At a supervisory board meeting of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia on Wednesday, the readiness of various facilities around the country were discussed and coordinated.

It follows the announcement on Tuesday by Sepp Blatter, 79, who decided to step down as the head of FIFA, just four days after being elected to run the international football governing body for a fifth term.

Sputnik News reports:

Shuvalov, who is first deputy chairman of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Local Organizing Committee Supervisory Board, said after a coordination meeting that the participants discussed the readiness of various facilities around the country to host the championships.
