The U.S. military’s most advanced weapons just failed in spectacular fashion against an unidentified object—an incident now raising new questions about what the Pentagon knows and why the public has been left in the dark.
Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) shocked the House Oversight Committee on UAPs Tuesday by unveiling never-before-seen footage from October 30, 2024, off the coast of Yemen.
The classified-looking clip, handed to him anonymously, shows a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone locking onto a glowing orb and firing a Hellfire missile. Instead of disintegrating on impact, the missile appears to ricochet off harmlessly.

NewsNation’s Ross Coulthart called the incident “new” and “big,” warning: “The best technology of the U.S. doesn’t work against whatever that was.”
For decades, the U.S. has quietly boasted about having the most powerful and precise weapons on Earth. Yet in this video, the so-called “orb”—an object with no visible propulsion system—shrugs off a direct hit.
Adding to the mystery, Burlison pointed out that the orb seemed to “shift form” after impact, while smaller trailing objects continued moving alongside it.

The congressman told NewsNation’s Joe Khalil he released the clip because the American people deserve to see it: “I’m gonna let the public determine the accuracy or validity of the video. What the hell is that?”
Pentagon officials have yet to offer any explanation, leaving the moment open to speculation. Was the orb a classified adversarial weapon? Or was it something beyond human technology—something deliberately immune to mankind’s most destructive tools?
The timing is telling. A new NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll finds that nearly half of Americans believe the government is hiding information about UFOs. This footage may only confirm suspicions that the public has been fed a decades-long cover-up.
And if the Pentagon’s best can’t even scratch these objects, one has to ask: who—or what—is really in control of the skies?
