Biological motherhood is the “least significant” part of being a real woman, according to Michelle Obama on a recent episode of her podcast.
Speaking on the role of women’s reproductive systems, the former First Lady said, “The least of what it does is produce life,” downplaying what many consider the defining feature of female biology—the ability to conceive and give birth.
She went on to argue that men can’t truly understand what women endure because, in her view, “female biology has barely been studied.”

Since then, government documents from Illinois have confirmed Michelle was registered to vote as a male for more than a decade until 2008, the year husband Barack was running for president.
Barack Obama himself has repeatedly slipped up, calling her “Michael” during speeches. While his brother, Malik Obama, has also confirmed the Obama family are aware of Michelle Obama’s real gender.
