Arrest warrant issued for brave journalist covering the North Dakota Access pipeline violence

An arrest warrant has been issued for a journalist who covered the violent treatment suffered by Native Americans protesting the North Dakota Access Pipeline. 

Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman was charged with criminal trespassing after filming security guards using pepper spray and dogs to attack protestors.

Democracynow.org reports:

Democracy Now!’s report went viral online and was rebroadcast on many outlets, including CBS, NBC, NPR,CNN, MSNBC and Huffington Post.

“This is an unacceptable violation of freedom of the press,” said Amy Goodman in a statement.

“I was doing my job by covering pipeline guards unleashing dogs and pepper spray on Native American protesters.”
