Coca cola and Fanta were to release a video to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the fizzy orange drink.
The German video says that Coca-Cola’s invention of the new drink during the war was a “fantastic idea” and that the company wants to give “the feeling of the Good Old Times back”.
The promotional video was pulled after the company received a torrent of complaints.

It fails to mention that the country was gripped by Nazi rule and fighting the Second World War.
Since the second world war there has been rumours accusing the fizzy drink of having connections with Hitler and Nazi Germany.
At the time the Allies were drinking Coke while the Germans were Fanta drinkers. Coca Cola was in a win win position.

The company had to pull the video offline after the backlash.
A Coca-Cola spokeswoman apologised for any offence caused by the advertisement and said that it was supposed to “evoke positive childhood memories”.
She added: “Fanta was invented in Germany during the Second World War but the 75-year-old brand had no association with Hitler or the Nazi Party.”
