Mask mandates and social distancing must continue indefinitely in order to protect against new variants of covid according to the Special Envoy on Covid for the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr David Nabarro
Nabarro told Sky News that there would be a long list of mutations like the Indian variant which would in sometimes evade the protection offered by vaccines.
“We will go from Delta to Lambda and then on to the other Greek letters, that’s inevitable, and some of these variants will be troublesome,” Nabarro said. “I’m basically saying variants are going to go on coming.”

Summit News reports: According to Nabarro, mask mandates and social distancing need to remain in place for the foreseeable future “as part of our defence” against COVID, particularly in regions which have high infection rates.
As we highlighted earlier, England is set to drop all face mask rules on July 19 after it was revealed that they were having a massive negative impact on businesses and wiping billions off the economy.
Several government advisers have called for coronavirus restrictions to continue forever, not just to defend against COVID, but also to fight influenza.
Former Communist Party member and SAGE adviser Susan Michie said earlier this month that mask mandates and social distancing should continue “forever” and that people should adopt such behaviour just as they did with wearing seatbelts.

That leaves us with at least one Alternative Hypothesis common to both Europe and North America: An unknown ancestor virus to Covid-19 (call it Covid-1860) swept through the Asian and Australian Continents, providing the Asian and the Australian Continents’ population with Herd Immunity to the modern version of that original virus. As for the timing of Covid-1860. There were serious Gold Rushes in Australia in 1860 and in Alaska in 1897. Developing Herd Immunity from a virus requires an exposure to a significant population. A virus originating in Asia would not spread outside of Asia easily at a time when traveling by sailing ship or caravan in the middle 1800s required months; limiting Covid-1860’s exposure to Europe and North America. To put the development of the North American Pacific Northwest in perspective for the reader, the first ethic European child born physically in Alaska, not abord a ship in the harbor, was in 1915 as the city of Anchorage was first being built. By 1941 however, large numbers of people moved back and forth between Asia and the North American Continent. Covid-1860 would have had to have finished running its course through the Asian and Australian continents by then. Such a Hypothesis would also explain the extremely low number of Reported Deaths in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii. The fact that herd immunity sets in after exposure to the Covid virus is great news. It means everyone who has contracted the virus and survived will have long term immunity and be able to pass on that immunity to their offspring. It supports the position that widespread vaccinations are counter productive for people under the age of 50, especially if those widespread vaccinations are creating the variants that are either more contagious or more lethal. Its actually better if the population at large under 50 contracts the less lethal Covid-19 virus, which would make those people less susceptible to a more lethal Covid variant in the future.
Null Hypothesis – Asian Data on deaths are underreported because of a poor Health Care System. Buy calculating the ratio of Reported Covid-19 Deaths divided by the population over 65 of each country; placing them in either the European and North American Continent group or the Asian and Australian Continent group; sorting them; giving weight to those countries with a well funded and more efficient Health Care System as defined by the W.H.O.; and then plotting the weighted countries in a series of Histograms, an analysis of the Null Hypothesis can be made. It is argued that a well funded and more efficient Health Care System would provide a patient with both a better chance of surviving the Covid-19 infection, and an accurate reported Covid-19 Death count. If that is true, we should expect to see Histograms that show the well funded and more efficient Health Care Systems slightly skewed to the lower Reported Death Rates within each of their Continental Groups. It is also argued that countries with poor Health Care Systems would undercount the correct number of Covid-19 Deaths because they would not be able to gain physical access to all the Covid-19 patients, or correctly diagnose all the Covid-19 Deaths. If that is true, we should see Histograms that show the well funded and more efficient Health Care System slightly skewed to the Higher Reported Death Rates within their Continental Group. The Histograms of the well funded and more efficient Health Care Systems of both groups were well skewed to the Lower Reported Death Rates, thus proving the Null Hypothesis False. Asian Data on deaths are not underreported because of either a small population over the age of 65, or a poor Health Care System.
Howdy Anonymous. I do thank you for your comment. Yes, I have seen the reports related to the inaccuracy of the data. The problem is that although someone could accuse individual hospitals here in the US for exaggerating those numbers, it doesn’t explain the similar numbers in Central America and on the European continent because their numerous government run hospitals do not receive extra money for Covid patients. For that matter, the hospitals in Australia have the same Culture and technology as any European hospital, and their figures are extremely small in comparison. But I take your point. The Asan/Australian figures were so radically different that they needed explaining. Some Researchers dismissed the difference, saying that it was simply due to a much younger population on the Asian continent. You will notice that my data compares population ratios of only 65 and older. So a younger Asian population cannot be the cause of the difference. The other reason Researchers dismissed the difference as a false undercount of deaths, was because Asian health care is reportedly so much poorer than in the West that they either misdiagnose the deaths or that the people died without even being taken to the hospital. What follows is how I resolved that question.

Only about 9,300 people under the age of 50 in the US (about 1.5% of all the deaths in the US) have died of it. And about 575,000 people over 65 in the US (about 95% of all the deaths in the US) have died of it. And of those who were under 50, most of them had secondary issues related to a weakened immune system. But I do disagree with you about the advantages of herd immunity because it extends to people over 65. For example, the entire Asian population, from Japan to Turkey, has about 380 million people who are over 65. They only have had about 712 thousand Covid deaths by June 8, 2021; and the pandemic started on the Asian continent. That’s a Covid death rate of .184%. Australian continent has about 5 million people over the age of 65. They only had about 1,000 deaths by June 8, 2021. That’s a Covid death rate of .022%. The European continent has about 137.5 million people over the age of 65. They have had about 1 million Covid deaths by June 8, 2021. That’s a Covid death rate of .792%, close to an order of magnitude larger. The North American continent has about 80 million people over the age of 65. They have had about 888,000 Covid deaths by June 8, 2021. That’s a Covid death rate of 1.113%, clearly an order of magnitude larger. If the North American continent had Asia’s Covid death rate, only about 150,000 people would have died throughout the entire continent. So you see, herd immunity does matter.
