Pam Bondi’s Official DoJ Portrait Tossed in Trash Can — Just 24 Hours After Trump Fired Her

Fact checked by The People's Voice Community

The official portrait of former US Attorney General Pam Bondi was dumped in a trash bin at the Justice Department in Washington, just a day after President Donald Trump removed her from office.

A widely shared photo on social media shows Bondi’s official portrait lying upside down in a wire trash can inside the DOJ office.

The former US Attorney General’s portrait had previously hung on the wall alongside images of Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

Trump fired Bondi on Thursday after months of strained relations, appointing his former personal lawyer, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, as acting head of the Justice Department. The announcement was made via a social media post, marking another high-profile shake-up in Trump’s administration.

“Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,” Trump said on Truth Social.

“Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country. She will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector.”

Bondi had long been a staunch Trump ally, but her tenure was marred by controversy. She drew criticism for her handling of Justice Department files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Her inability to successfully prosecute several of Trump’s perceived political opponents, including former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, reportedly added to the tension.

In her own post on X, Bondi described serving as attorney general as “the honour of a lifetime” and pledged to continue supporting Trump in her next role. She also thanked Trump for the trust he placed in her and said she would work closely with Blanche to ensure a smooth transition.

“Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche,” she said. “I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again.”
