
Richard Attenborough’s son has told the BBC that his father had passed away at lunchtime today. The Actor and Director was 90 years old.

Lord Attenborough had been in a nursing home with his wife for a number of years.
He had also been in a wheelchair since falling down stairs six years ago, our correspondent added.
Since 2008 Lord Attenborough was left wheelchair-bound after a fall in 2008, and his health had continued to deteriorate. Since then he had been living in a care home with his wife before his tragic death today.
His family will be making a full statement on Monday.
