Rolf Harris has been interviewed under caution over fresh sex offence allegations.

Harris, 84, was spoken to by detectives on Tuesday and Wednesday at a police station in Stafford.

The disgraced entertainer is serving a five-year sentence at Stafford Prison for a string of sex attacks on four young girls after he was convicted last July.

The Met did not name Harris, but said in a statement: “We can confirm officers from Operation Yewtree have interviewed an 84-year-old man under caution in connection with allegations of sexual offences, under the strand of the investigation we have termed ‘Others’.

“He was interviewed on Tuesday 3 Feb and Wednesday 4 Feb at a police station in Stafford.

Operation Yewtree was sparked by the revelations surrounding paedophile Jimmy Savile and has three strands.

One concerns Savile’s crimes exclusively and a second relates to allegations against Savile and others.

Harris’ interview falls under the third strand – accusations unconnected to Savile but which emerged as a result of the publicity surrounding the case.

Police said inquiries are continuing.
