A shootout broke out on a major boulevard in the east of the French capital.
One man was shot and seriously wounded on the Boulevard de la Bastille in Paris, according to French media.

It is understood several shots were exchanged outside a restaurant called Chez Papa.
Police have arrested near the scene but local media report that two gunmen are on the run.
The motive behind the shootings has not been established
The incident comes as Paris is on high alert following the terror attacks In November last year.
