Smiling TPUSA Staff Posing For Photos and Selfies Inside Charlie Kirk Assassination Tent

Turning Point USA has erected a full-scale replica of the exact tent where founder Charlie Kirk was fatally shot as part of its AmericaFest annual conference, and staff and attendees are smiling for photos and selfies. Almost as though they are celebrating.

The display — set up inside the Phoenix convention center — depicts the site where Kirk was killed during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in September while hosting a debate as part of his “American Comeback Tour.”

Attendees have been observed lining up to pose for photos and selfies inside and around the replica tent, with many wearing replicas of the “Freedom” T-shirt Kirk was wearing at the time of the shooting.

“This is a recreation of the tent where Charlie Kirk lost his life at Utah Valley University in September, and people are taking selfies with it,” reported Brandy Zadrozny from MS Now at the conference.

Tribute or Exploitation? Backlash Erupts Online and in the Media

The installation has triggered a wave of backlash across social media and political commentary, including sharp criticism from within conservative circles themselves.

Candace Owens publicly condemned the installation, calling it deeply out of touch and a grotesque symbol of the way Charlie Kirk has been betrayed by those closest to him.

Others have gone further, accusing Turning Point USA of exploiting grief for branding purposes.

These voices argue that the exhibit prioritizes emotional shock value and viral imagery over sincere memorialization, turning a moment of national tragedy into a form of political theater designed for social media circulation.
