US senator Lindsey Graham has publicly urged president Trump to assassinate a foreign head of state
He not only warned Iran’s leaders that President Trump was “gonna kill you” if security forces continued to kill protesters, but has also called for Trump to “kill” Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
MSN reports: Speaking on Fox News amid deadly unrest in Iran, Graham pushed the boundaries of U.S. political rhetoric and escalated an already volatile confrontation with Tehran. He praised Trump for siding with protesters over the ayatollah, calling Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “the modern-day Hitler” and “a horrible person,” and said “it’s time for him to go,” adding that “the people want him to go.”

Graham then issued his most explicit appeal, telling host Maria Bartiromo, “If I were you, Mr. President, I would kill the leadership that are killing the people. You’ve got to end this.”

Graham’s argument for regional impact
Graham argued that eliminating Khamenei would stabilize the Middle East, saying that if the operation “ends well, then peace breaks out.” He claimed that “all the state-sponsored terrorism activity stops” and that groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas “would go away,” and suggested it could pave the way for peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
He warned that allowing Khamenei to remain in power would represent “a giant Obama step backward,” drawing a sharp contrast with Trump’s approach.
Graham closed with direct praise for the president, “I have faith in you, Mr. President, I have trust in you. You are the Ronald Reagan-plus of our time. End this. Stand with the people, Mr. President. Let them know you’re going to kill their oppressors.”
Trump’s warnings to Iran
President Trump has repeatedly warned that the United States is prepared to intervene if Iranian authorities kill peaceful demonstrators.
In earlier remarks, he said: “If Iran [shoots] and violently kills peaceful protesters… the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go.”
After Graham’s interview, Trump said Iran had proposed negotiations in response to U.S. warnings and that his administration was working to arrange a meeting with Tehran. He added that he might still “have to act first,” citing reports of rising protester deaths.
