‘We Don’t Do Assassinations’: Mossad Chief Calls Charlie Kirk Murder Claims ‘Super False and Evil’

Fact checked by The People's Voice Community

Former Mossad Director Yossi Cohen has publicly denied any involvement of Israel’s intelligence agency in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, calling the accusations “super false and evil” during a podcast interview.

Speaking on The Erin Molan Show, Cohen insisted Mossad “isn’t doing this sort of stuff” — referring to political assassinations — and claimed that people are paranoid about the power held by Israel’s intelligence agency. “Even the tsunami, somebody claimed that it was a Mossad job,” said Cohen.

Cohen’s denial has immediately drawn mockery from intelligence analysts, journalists, and even former Mossad operatives who say his denial flies in the face of decades of documented history.

“Mossad has always had dedicated assassination squads,” said one former Israeli operative speaking under condition of anonymity. “They’ve carried out extraterritorial operations since the 1950s — from Iran to Norway to Dubai. For Cohen to say otherwise is absurd.”

A Pattern of Targeted Killings

Mossad’s reputation for precision assassinations is not speculative — it’s historical fact.
From the 1973 Lillehammer affair, in which Mossad agents killed an innocent Moroccan waiter they mistook for a Black September terrorist, to the 2010 Dubai operation against Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, Israel’s foreign intelligence service has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to carry out lethal missions abroad.

Even the former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir once admitted to personally authorizing “Operation Wrath of God,” Mossad’s global campaign to hunt down and execute those responsible for the 1972 Munich Olympics attack.

For an ex-director to now insist Mossad “doesn’t do assassinations” has raised eyebrows — especially after documents leaked earlier this month suggesting an Israeli-linked private security firm had been monitoring U.S. political influencers accused of spreading “anti-Israel sentiment” following the Gaza conflict.

The Charlie Kirk Connection

Kirk’s assassination — still under active investigation by U.S. authorities — has fueled an avalanche of speculation online. Multiple whistleblowers have claimed intelligence coordination between private contractors and foreign agencies in the weeks leading up to his death.

Adding to the intrigue, several reports indicate that Kirk had been preparing to release material critical of Israel’s role in social media manipulation and covert operations within Western tech companies — a topic Mossad veterans like Cohen have frequently commented on.

Cohen’s denial, some analysts suggest, might be an attempt to get ahead of revelations still to come.

“When a former Mossad chief feels compelled to go on a podcast and insist Mossad doesn’t assassinate people,” one intelligence observer noted, “that alone tells you the pressure is mounting.”

“Doesn’t Do That” — Or Doesn’t Admit It?

Critics say Cohen’s statements follow a familiar pattern: plausible deniability. Israeli intelligence officials have historically maintained a policy of silence or denial regarding extrajudicial operations, even long after they become public knowledge.

Cohen himself oversaw Mossad operations under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which multiple Iranian scientists and military officials were killed in mysterious explosions and targeted strikes — incidents Israeli leadership later hinted were “necessary actions for national security.”

To now claim Mossad “doesn’t do that,” observers argue, is less a statement of fact than a PR maneuver.

As one former CIA officer put it, “If Mossad didn’t do assassinations, there wouldn’t be a Mossad.”
