Family of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich demand answers

Family members of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich have asked the public to help them find their son’s killer, four weeks into a failed police investigation.

Seth Rich, 27, died in July from after being shot near his home in Washington D.C. shortly after he blew the whistle on election fraud within the Democratic Party.

Dailycaller.com reports:

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) joined the family of Seth Rich, 27, who died July 10 from gunshot wounds walking to his home in northwest D.C., in a press conference Thursday. The Rich family requested that people come forward with any information that may lead to an arrest of the killer, reports WJLA.

Rich was on the phone with his girlfriend when the assailant attacked him.

“I ask you please if you know anything, heard anything, just come forward and talk to the police … particularly if you know of anyone that looked like they’d been in a fight,” Mary Rich, Seth’s mother, said at the press conference. “Let’s get this person off the street. And therefore my son can rest in peace, and your neighborhood can be safer.”

Rich, a resident from northwest D.C., was the voter expansion data director for the DNC and served there for more than two years. Officers on patrol with the MPD responded July 10 at 4:19 a.m. to sounds of gunfire  in Bloomingdales on the 2100 block of Flagler Place. Police found Rich conscious and breathing with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities transported Rich to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Police do not have proof of a motive but believe it may have stemmed from a botched robbery attempt.

“Right now we have more questions than we have answers,” Police Chief Cathy Lanier said at the press conference.

Out of 75 homicides in the District so far this year, 40 still remained unsolved. For any homicide occurring in the District, police offer a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest or prosecution of a perpetrator.
