A delegation of over 1,000 US Christian pastors have been flown to Israel for special training to learn how to convince Americans to be more pro-Israel.

The hand picked evangelical delegation were visiting key sites, meeting with Israeli leaders, honoring victims of the October 7 attacks, and training as pro-Israel ambassadors

The aim of their intensive training is to help crush antisemitism in the next generation by countering what its backers call an “ideological war” against Israel, particularly among younger people

Ynet news reports: Organized by the Friends of Zion Heritage Center and coordinated with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative marks a major outreach effort to the American evangelical community. Its founder, Dr. Mike Evans, a prominent evangelical leader and close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, called it “the largest delegation of U.S. Christian leaders since the country’s founding.” Participants will be commissioned as “Friends of Zion Ambassadors,” joining what Evans describes as a global community of over 750 million evangelical Christians. The Friends of Zion organization, based in Jerusalem, claims to operate the world’s largest pro-Israel social media network and says nearly half a million Israelis have taken part in its events. Its Friends of Zion Award, commissioned by the late President Shimon Peres, has been presented to more world leaders than any other Israeli honor, including Trump at the White House.

Evans pointed out that this was not a “tour of Israel”

He said the visitors “are not coming on a tour,” but to step into roles as official ambassadors and advocates prepared “to combat antisemitism and reach the youth of our generation.” Some will preach in their churches, while others operate on YouTube or additional platforms where they can make their voices heard.

“This is a high-level briefing to commission these evangelical pastors to be partners with the State of Israel to achieve its ultimate objective.”

He also emphasized the shared risks faced by Jews and Christians under radical Islam, adding that the ideology of groups like Hamas aims to eradicate both populations. He cited 9/11 as evidence of global attacks associated with radical Islam, arguing that Israel acts as a critical firewall.
