Just days after Anthony Bourdain’s death, authorities have cremated his body against his family’s wishes and have refused to perform an autopsy.

French prosecutor Christian de Rocquigney de Fayel said that because there is no evidence of foul play, a cremation was authorized on Wednesday without the need for an autopsy.
A CNN spokesperson confirmed to E! News that the family had not been informed of the cremation.
According to People Magazine, who first reported the news, the CNN star was secretly cremated in France, much to the dismay of his family.
His ashes will be flown back to the United States on Friday.
