BREAKING: Shooting At Tennessee Naval Reserve

BREAKING NEWS:  What is being called an “active shooting incident” is being reported at a Federal U.S. Military Naval Reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

According to Yahoo! News [1]:

According to the Times Free Press [2], at least one officer, was shot and was transported to a hospital Thursday morning.

Chattanooga, Tennessee

A worker at a restaurant next to the naval center told CNN she witnessed a man with “a high-powered rifle” fire multiple shots from a silver Mustang into the recruiting offices at the center. Another witness told ABC 9 she heard as many as 30 shots fired before the shooter drove away.

Both the hospital and nearby Chattannooga State Community College were placed on lockdown.

Chattanooga Mayor cut short a news conference, saying, “This is a very, very terrible situation, I’m very concerned about what’s going on. We need to figure out how to handle it.”

Citing radio scanner traffic, the newspaper said shots were also reported fired at army recruiting centers in the southeeast Tennessee.

According to CNN, gents from the FBI field office in Knoxville were en route to assist in the investigation.

The U.S. Navy said it was investigating reports of a shooting, but would not elaborate further.
