Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has come under fire for praising the ongoing violent attacks against Tesla. His comments align with a broader sentiment among Democrats, who have targeted the company and its CEO, Elon Musk, amid ongoing political tensions.
On Tuesday, footage captured a reporter pursuing Schumer through the halls of Congress, pressing him on the issue with the question, “Sir, what’s your opinion of the violence against Tesla, their products?” Schumer’s refusal to address the violence directly, coupled with his pointed criticism of Musk, has fueled debates over political rhetoric and its role in escalating real-world aggression toward the electric vehicle manufacturer.
Infowars.com reports: “What are your thoughts on that?” the journalist again asked, as the senator waited for an elevator. “Do you denounce the violence against Tesla products and dealerships and cars in the streets?”

Schumer instead took the opportunity to slam Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk, who’s been working with the Trump administration to ferret out government fraud, waste and abuse.

“I can’t talk about Tesla, but Elon Musk is a disaster for America,” Schumer said before boarding the elevator.
Musk responded to the footage, writing, “Terrible.”
The fact that Sen. Schumer won’t condemn the violence is essentially a tacit endorsement of it, and indicates Democrats are actually pleased that it’s happening.
