Cconvicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell was seen carrying a large white box back into her cell following a closed-door meeting with senior officials from the U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday.
The drone footage, first reported on July 24, 2025, shows Maxwell returning to the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee after an extended interview session with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
According to multiple reports, Maxwell was questioned for nearly nine hours over the course of two days as part of a renewed federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s global sex trafficking network.

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence, is said to have cooperated fully during the interview, allegedly providing information on roughly 100 individuals she claims were linked to Epstein’s criminal activities.

Her attorney, Bobbi Sternheim, confirmed that Maxwell answered every question “truthfully” and “without invoking the Fifth Amendment,” adding that she was granted limited immunity for her cooperation.
However, it was the unexpected appearance of the box—its size and contents still unknown—that has provoked intense scrutiny. Drone footage captured Maxwell carrying the box back into her cell block, prompting widespread speculation that it may contain physical documents, sealed affidavits, or other materials tied to her testimony.

While prison officials have declined to comment on what was inside the box, anonymous sources within the facility described it as “unusual” and noted that it had not gone through the standard property inspection process.
The DOJ has yet to make a formal statement about the nature of its meetings with Maxwell or the immunity arrangement. Still, critics and observers across the political spectrum are questioning whether this interaction is part of a broader deal, potentially even a covert arrangement that could lead to a commuted sentence or eventual pardon.
Some have gone further, suggesting that Maxwell’s recent statements—particularly her public denials that former President Donald Trump was involved in Epstein’s crimes—may be part of a calculated attempt to shield certain high-profile figures in exchange for leniency.
Outlets such as People and The New York Post have confirmed that Maxwell’s legal team is actively seeking ways to secure a reduced sentence through what her lawyer called a “truth-for-trade” arrangement.
Although the Department of Justice has stated that “further details will be shared at the appropriate time,” transparency advocates are calling for the immediate release of any deal struck with Maxwell, as well as the full list of names she reportedly provided.
