Second patient being tested for Ebola in Scotland

A second patient in Scotland is being tested for Ebola after returning from West Africa, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said, Reuters reported.

RT reports: Sturgeon said there was a low risk of Ebola being confirmed in this case, as the patient had no known contact with the virus.

“Although this is another returning healthcare worker from West Africa, the patient here has had no, as far as we’re aware, direct contact with people infected with Ebola,” Sturgeon told BBC radio.

Earlier on Tuesday a female health worker who was the first person diagnosed with Ebola in Britain was taken from a hospital in Scotland and will be transferred to London.

The woman will be treated in an isolation unit at the capital’s Royal Free Hospital, Britain’s designated Ebola treatment center, Reuters cited government officials as saying.

Earlier this year another British aid worker, William Pooley, who was diagnosed with Ebola in Sierra Leone was transported to London, where he was successfully treated
