House Speaker Mike Johnson abruptly pulled a scheduled vote on a War Powers Resolution that would have forced President Donald Trump to end America’s military campaign in Iran. The reason? It was crystal clear the measure had the votes to pass.
This isn’t governance. This is damage control for the military industrial complex.
A bipartisan caucus weary of forever wars forced the resolution to the floor. It invoked the 1973 War Powers Resolution, demanding that Trump either withdraw U.S. forces from Iran or finally obtain explicit congressional approval for continued hostilities.

What began as Trump’s bold “Operation Epic Fury” – airstrikes, assassinations, and military escalation against Iran starting in late February 2026 – has spiraled into another Middle East quagmire. Dozens of U.S. service members killed, billions flushed down the drain, global oil and fertilizer prices skyrocketing, and the war machine humming along while everyday Americans foot the bill at the gas pump and grocery store.
Mel Gibson Drops Congressional Bombshell: "Gavin Newsom Drank Baby Blood on Video"
Trump promised “America First.” Instead, we got America Last – entangled in another forever war with no clear exit strategy, no congressional declaration, and mounting evidence that this conflict serves defense contractors, foreign lobbies, and the same swamp creatures who cheered the Iraq debacle far more than it serves the American people.
The Cancellation: Democracy Denied
As a bipartisan group of lawmakers prepared to vote on a resolution directing Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from unauthorized hostilities in Iran (or get actual congressional approval), the numbers didn’t lie: the measure had the votes. Republicans were defecting. Absences couldn’t save them. So Johnson simply canceled the vote and kicked the can down the road until June.
Let that sink in. The Speaker of the House, supposedly a constitutionalist, actively prevented the House from voting to end an illegal war because he knew the people’s representatives would choose peace.
This is the same Mike Johnson who lectures about limited government and biblical values. Yet when it came time to stop the bombs, the body bags, and the blank checks to the military-industrial complex, he folded like a cheap suit. The deep state must be proud.
Time to Wake Up
The American people are waking up. Polls show disapproval of this Iran war rivaling the darkest days of Iraq and Vietnam. Young Americans on both the right and left are sick of their generation being cannon fodder for elite games. Libertarians, paleocons, and anti-interventionist progressives are uniting against the blood-and-soil globalists who profit from perpetual conflict.
End the wars. Bring them home. Audit the Fed. Drain the real swamp.
