The Times of India reported:

A 36-year-old woman allegedly chopped off her live-in partner’s genitals after he attempted to rape her 14-year-old daughter in the Mahewaganj area of UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Wednesday.

The couple was living together for the past two years after she separated from her alcoholic husband. Disclosing the sequence of events, the woman said, “I was working in the farm when the incident took place. Fortunately, I returned home in the nick of time and caught him red-handed. He even attacked me while I was trying to save my daughter so I brought a knife from the kitchen and chopped off his private parts to teach him a lesson. I have no regrets for what I did.”

SHO Lakhimpur police station Chandrashekhar Singh said, “The 32-year-old accused has been booked under section 376 (rape) of IPC and the Pocso act. Since his condition was critical, he was referred to Lucknow for higher treatment.”

It is unclear if the mother is facing any charges.

    • Any Jury in America may exercise their Right of Jury Nullification, and even though judges don’t mention it, when you serve on a jury, it’s not just the defendant on trial, it’s the law as well. If jurors think a law is UN-Constitutional, unfair or think that applying it in their particular case would be unjust, then they do not have to find the defendant guilty, even if the evidence clearly indicates guilt according to existing ‘law’.

So, if you ever serve on a jury don’t forget about Jury Nullification. Tell the other jurors you don’t have to convict, even if all the evidence points to guilt, if you don’t agree with the application of the law in this instance. And if you can’t swing your peers to your way of thinking, at least you can cause the jury to return a hung verdict.

“Jurors should acquit, even against the judge’s instruction… if exercising their judgement with discretion and honesty they have a clear conviction the charge of the court is wrong.” ~ Alexander Hamilton, 1804

“It is not only the juror’s right, but his duty to find the verdict according to his own best understanding, judgement and conscience, though in direct opposition to the instruction of the court.” ~ John Adams, 1771

      • Jury Nullification works. I used it on the last Jury trial I was on. My state constitution gives Jurors that right. You have to work with your fellow jurors during deliberation. The Judge/Lawyers were so surprised when the verdict came back in the Defendants favor, but nothing they could do! The lady defendant broke down after her lawyer told her she won, because she couldn’t believe it.

  1. Good. More like this needs to happen more frequently. It is the job of the parent to protect the child. I am glad to know that some are stepping up and taking their job seriously.

  2. She was charged too. India has enough of fake cases where media blindly favors the woman and Western media with a savior complex likes to stereotype Eastern men. Happened in Kerala too. Pedophile declared by media and a month later the woman and a man arrested for plotting revenge. Same old same old.
