Rep. Thomas Massie Introduces Legislation To Block Israeli Takeover of US Military

A battle is erupting in Washington over a little-known provision buried inside the massive annual U.S. defense bill — one that will merge U.S. and Israeli military operations, ceding American sovereignty to Israel.

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie has introduced an amendment aimed at removing Section 219 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a provision previously numbered Section 224, titled the “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative.”

“This is about whether we remain a sovereign country,” Massie warned, arguing that the provision could lead to American military supply chains and technology becoming increasingly intertwined with those of Israel.

Massie says the measure would move the two countries into unprecedented levels of military cooperation, involving areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber defense, weapons development, and defense industrial coordination.

Critics of the legislation have described it as a potential “merger” of U.S. and Israeli military interests, claiming it could make future presidents and Congress less able to alter America’s relationship with Israel. Social media posts opposing the measure have gone viral, with some activists accusing lawmakers of quietly embedding a permanent military partnership inside a defense spending bill.

The controversy centers on language directing the Pentagon to expand cooperation with Israel on defense technology research, development, testing, evaluation, and industrial partnerships. It will create a level of integration that means US citizens will be forced to sacrifice their lives for the Greater Israel project for generations to come.

The Netanyahu Connection

Some critics have also pointed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and previous Israeli strategic proposals as part of the broader debate over closer U.S.-Israel defense integration.

Opponents argue the legislation reflects a vision of permanently binding American and Israeli security interests together. However, claims that Netanyahu personally authored the congressional language have not been substantiated in publicly available legislative records reviewed in reporting on the measure.

The fight over Section 219 is becoming a new front in the long-running debate over America’s relationship with Israel — and critics say the public is only now discovering what was buried inside the fine print.
