Church Shooting Suspect Charged With Murder & Firearm Possession

Fact checked

According to the police, Dylann Roof, the Charleston church shooting suspect has been charged with nine counts of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The announcement was made by the Police  @CharlestonPD on Friday in a Twitter post which also said that Roof’s bond hearing is to take place at 2 p.m. local time on Friday.

Earlier it was reported that, according to officials Roof had confessed to police that he shot and killed nine people at a historic African-American church in South Carolina.

It has also been revealed that Roof had been prescribed the pharmaceutical drug Suboxone, a drug that has dangerous side-effects that include outbursts of violence and aggression.

Roof, who was arrested by authorities in North Carolina, on Thursday, allegedly said he wanted to start a race war.

The .45-caliber handgun  which had been used in the attack was apparently purchased by Roof in Charleston back in April.

Earlier reports stated that the gun was a 21st birthday gift from his father, though his Grandfather stated that Roof was merely given “birthday money,” and that his family didn’t know what he used it for.

Again, we wonder is Obama going to use this as an excuse to implement further gun restriction laws?
