Delaware Man Raped Girl 250 Times Over 5 Year Period

A Delaware man has been indicted for repeatedly raping a girl over five years, starting when she was 12.

Charges against the 41-year-old man include rape, dealing in child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child.

Richard “Ricky” White Jr., 41, most recently of Greenville, Del., was indicted by a New Castle County (Del.) grand jury on 11 counts of second-degree rape, four counts of sexual exploitation of a child, possession of child pornography and other charges.

New Castle County Police say White had sex with the girl no fewer than 250 times since 2012, furthering his crimes with threats against the girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Some details of the charges are being withheld to protect the victim’s identity.

A detective who interviewed the victim wrote in court documents that White and the girl began conversing via text message in fall 2012. At some point, the conversations became about sex with White prying into the 12-year-old girl’s sexual history, according to the affidavit.

Later that fall, he picked her up from home when she was off of school and took her to his home, police said. They began watching television before White started kissing her and eventually had sex with her, according to court documents.

That began a five-year pattern where White had sex with the girl sometimes on a weekly basis, police said.

At first, it was at his home. After he served time in jail for driving while intoxicated, he would meet her in the woods. After he lost his home, he would pick her up from school and have sex with her behind a Popeyes. After she began driving, they would meet at Delcastle Recreational Park and a Royal Farms, according to the affidavit.

Police said he also took photos and videos of them having sex. He would have her set up Facetime video chats so he could watch her shower on a nightly basis at times, the affidavit said.

She told police she felt both “obligated” and “threatened” by White. When she brought up stopping the routine to White, he would threaten to kill himself, tell other people about the sex and publish photos and videos of them having sex, according to the affidavit.

Police observed messages where the victim told White she feared him, asked him to stop contacting her and advised they needed to stop, a detective said in the affidavit.

Eventually, the girl told someone and that person contacted police, according to the affidavit.

White is in Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington. He is charged with 11 counts of second-degree rape, continuous abuse of a child, dangerous crime against a child, sexual solicitation of a child, four counts of sexual exploitation of a child, dealing in child pornography and six counts of possessing child pornography.
