The FDA has warned that more than half a million Covid tests should be disposed of due to “significant concerns” over bacterial contamination.

The covid tests are being recalled due to the presence of possibly dangerous bacteria in the liquid solution.

The FDA said that the tests may be contaminated with bacteria such as enterococcus, enterobacter, klebsiella and serratia species and cause infection particularly in people with weakened immune systems.

According to TGP: In a recall announcement made this week, SD Biosensor, Inc. said that more than 40 batches of its Pilot COVID-19 At-Home Tests were affected.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has stated that roughly 500,000 of the recalled tests were delivered to CVS Health and around 16,000 were sent to Amazon.

The contaminated kits may also produce false test results.

10TV reported:

The FDA stressed that none of the recalled lots were distributed through federal testing programs or through COVID.gov.

The affected tests can be identified by the lot number on the outer packaging and should be thrown in the trash. If you have one of the recalled tests, you are urged not to pour the liquid down any household drains.

The potentially harmful bacteria was found in the test tube with liquid inside (pouch 2 of the kits), according to the recall announcement. It notes that while the liquid is contained in a sealed tube, direct exposure to the liquid through misuse or spillage could potentially lead to serious illness.

Additionally, the FDA said the contamination may impact the test performance and cause false-negative or false-positive results.

Consumers can see a full list of recalled lots below or look up their test kit’s lot number on this website, which will indicate whether a particular test kit may be used or should be properly disposed of.

Consumers may also contact the Roche Customer Support Center at 1-866-987-6243 and select option 1. If a consumer’s test kit is from an unaffected lot, it is safe to continue using tests from that kit in accordance with the instructions for use, which can be found in the test kit or at go.roche.com/covid-home-test.

  1. the test kits back in January were spike with bacterial spores. I got pnemonia after taking a required test for my work. the next week I went back they gave me a positive result. so i went home thinking I had covid. however, i have had walking pnemonia three times in my life and reconized my symptoms as being exactly like pnemonia. So I called my new doctor and told him I had a recurring walking pnemonia and I needed Zpack antibiotics. I didn’t tell him about the positive indication of covid. He wrote me a prescription for the Zpack 5 day regimine. Previously I was suffering for like 8 days of mild fever and coughing I could not cough up and really weak.
Well the first dose of Zpack, no lying, I could feel improvement in 45 mins. It was amazing. Covid is supposed to be a virus, I tested positive for said virus, but this anti biotic was working wonders. the next day I was even better, I took my second dose and improvements were substantial, by the end of the regimine I was cured, but my lungs were senstive to inhaling to much air, it would be like a brain freeze in my lungs, but I was better, but my lungs needed to heal.

So my speculation is that they tests they made every take had bacterial spores in them so people would get lung infections deceiving people that they had covids and spread the fear that they better get the vaccine.

Well my doctor found out that I tested positive for Covid and he was furious with me that I didn’t tell him. but I told him that he made me better, but he insisted I should have told him avbout the test results.. My reply was that I reconized the symptoms for what they were from experience and I said I didn’t want him to focus on covid, because i knew it was not covid and why he was not happy he made me better?

  2. They are false . I went to my brothers house in Ga to hang out with his wife he was going out of town. At the last minute she said she was kind of sick. We were there already for 3 days my brother comes back with a PCR test and she takes it and it says she has covid. Mind you we played games all week hanging out playing games . My friend and I did not get sick!!! remember we used to have colds and flu and sometimes it lasts for days or more i think people FORGOT the FLU symptoms …..
