Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington DC on Monday

The White House said that Trump held a lengthy call with Zelensky following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday.

Both Trump and Putin hailed Friday’s summit as productive, though no agreement was reached to the bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end. Trump is now pushing for a permanent peace agreement rather than a ceasefire.

InfoWars reports: On his way back to Washington aboard Air Force One, President Trump spoke with President Zelensky and with NATO and European leaders.

Zelensky described the 90-minute call with President Trump as “long and substantive.”

Zelensky expressed his approval for President Trump’s proposed trilateral meeting between the US, Ukraine and Russia.

He also said he had discussed the issue of American security guarantees during his call with President Trump.

“Ukraine emphasizes that key issues can be discussed at the level of leaders, and a trilateral format is suitable for this. On Monday, I will meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all of the details regarding ending the killing and the war,” Zelenskiy said on X.

According to a source quote by Axios, President Trump told European leaders that Putin was not interested in a ceasefire but a comprehensive agreement to bring the war to an end.

“I think a fast peace deal is better than a ceasefire,” Trump is claimed to have said.

Among the European leaders who joined the call were European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, French President Emmanuel Macron and leaders from Germany, Finland, Poland, Italy and Britain.
