The Chief Executive of the Police Federation of England and Wales has been arrested on suspicion of corruption.
Mukund Krishna was arrested along with two other national board members by officers from the City of London Police following an investigation into allegations of financial wrongdoing at PFEW, which represents 130,000 rank-and-file officers across the country.
The Telegraph reports: Krishna, a former management consultant, is the first Chief Executive of the PFEW and is reported to earn more than £320,000 a year.

On Wednesday, officers carried out a series of raids on premises in Wales, Somerset, London and Surrey to arrest suspects and gather evidence.

Det Supt James Halkett, of the City of London Police Domestic Corruption Unit, said: “The City of London Police Domestic Corruption Unit are leading a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud made against three individuals connected to the national PFEW.
“A 46 year-old man from Surrey, a 51 year-old man from Wales and a 55 year-old man from Bristol were all arrested on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position.”
“This is a complex and active investigation in which we are pursuing all lines of inquiry, and I would ask that anyone with further information related to our inquiries contacts us via our major incident public portal.”
A PFEW spokesman said: “We are aware that three individuals connected to the Police Federation have been arrested as part of an ongoing police investigation.
