George Osborne’s Budget looks set to be a smokescreen for massive cuts if the Tories win the general election in May.
The Chancellor today made clear he would press ahead with cuts to public services and welfare on Wednesday to pay for tax cuts for the rich.

But he refused to say where the axe would fall and which benefits would be slashed.
And he refused to deny that he was plotting “colossal cuts” in the next parliament.
Instead he told BBC1’s Andrew Marr that more austerity is needed to bring down the deficit.
