Royal officer arrested after ammunition found in lockers at Buckingham Palace

A Royal Protection officer has been arrested after ammunition was found in personnel lockers on the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

The express reports:- ‘The ammunition is believed to be from the Metropolitan Police’s own supplies and the arrested officer is being questioned by Scotland Yard.

He is in custody at a London police station and is being held on suspicion of misconduct in public office and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The officer will be suspended from duty.

The discovery was made a few weeks ago when other Royal Protection officers found ammunition in their personal lockers or belongings.

The arrested individual is from the unit responsible for protecting the Royal Household (SO14) and normally works in a protection role.’
