Shots Fired And Vehicle Rams The Gate At NSA Headquarters

The FBI are  investigating the incident but police are refusing to provide detailed commentary, saying that the incident took place on NSA property.

Gunfire was heard after a vehicle appeared to ram the gates of the National Security Agency headquarters at Fort Meade in Maryland, on Monday morning. One person has apparently died at the scene of the attack.

RT reports:  An SUV truck rammed into the gates of the National Security Agency headquarters on Monday morning. One of the two alleged attackers was shot dead at the scene by security.

Police sources say two more are being treated for injuries as a result of the attack. Emergency workers were seen carrying a person in uniform to one of the ambulances.

NBC has cited inside sources claiming that the two men were disguised as women at the time of the attack. It also alleges that a gun and a quantity of illegal drugs were found in their Ford Escape.

Chopper footage at ABC7 shows a significant police presence. The footage shows two damaged vehicles outside the gates, one of the them an SUV.

FBI is investigating the incident, with police refusing to provide detailed comment, saying that the incident took place on NSA property. Fort Meade houses 11,000 military staff and 29,000 civilian employees.

County fire has responded to NSA/Fort Meade for a motor vehicle collision with two gunshot victims, spokesman says.

Former prison guard Hong Young was arrested earlier this month after a spate of shootings in the area, which resulted in several of the bullets hitting the NSA building. It is unclear if the campus was the gunman’s target.
