Stolen Russian Planes: One Crashes, Another Still Missing

Two planes have been stolen from Tyumen in Russia, one of which crash-landed after taking off, and the other still missing. Airports in Russia are on alert.

Russian news agency TASS have said the people who stole the planes have not yet been identified.

The small planes, one being a Yak-52 and the other a GY-80 160, belonged to DOSAAF – a Russian paramilitary air club.

TASS reported that the occupant of the YAK – 52 was picked up by his accomplice in the stolen GY-80-160 before taking to the sky.

According to reports, the Russian authorities said that the missing plane was last seen heading towards capital Moscow.

All the airports in Russia were put on alert following the incident. More details were awaited.
