TV Viewers Don’t Want Katie Hopkins To Rule The World

Katie Hopkins

Katie Hopkins’ TV chat show, ‘If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World,’ is to be axed.

Hopkins, a known ‘controversial media person’ managed to draw in an average of only 69,000 viewers to the debut episode of her TV chat show on TLC; that is despite having a large social media following of some 600,000 Twitter followers. Discovery has decided not to recommission ‘If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World’ for a second season.

The Independent reports:

The Discovery-owned channel were clearly hoping Hopkins’ polemic The Sun column and sizeable Twitter following would drive interest to the show, which gleefully billed her as ‘Britain’s most hated woman’ and a ‘professional provocateur’.

But the chat show, which saw her chew over divisive issues with a panel and a studio audience, consistently struggled in the ratings and a source told the Guardian that there are no plans for it to return.

A spokesperson for Discovery declined to comment to the paper on the show’s future.

She received the rather dubious honour of being exalted by Donald Trump last week, who wrote on Twitter: “Thank you to respected columnist Katie Hopkins of Daily Mail.com for her powerful writing on the U.K.’s Muslim problems.” (sic)
