
Nashua Schools in Boston are to remain closed on Monday after state and federal officials have said they are investigating a threat of violence made against the schools.
Nashua Police and the School District Administration are working together to determine whether the threat is credible.

“Because the threat is specific and extends to several schools,” Superintendent Mark Conrad. “We will be cautious and close all of our public schools in Nashua tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 21.”
The threat was emailed in and officials are still working to identify who sent the email, which was received Sunday. Police said the threat was made against both Nashua high schools – Nashua High School North and Nashua High School South. Sunday night State Police officers and K-9s were sweeping Nashua High School North.
“Specific direction towards the two specific Nashua high school. With a specific threats of violence is why we are kind of taking it seriously,” said State Trooper Lt. Kerry Baxter.
“As a parent I’m scared.. I’m freaking out. Don’t want to send my kids to school. Fears me if they arent going to come home alive,” said Barbara Lao, a parent to kids in the school district.

Lao and other parents received the reverse call from the Nashua School District saying school is canceled. Laso said her daughter was terrified.
Conrad said he anticipates opening schools Tuesday. There are 11,400 students in the district.
