Chris Brown Calls Caitlyn Jenner A "Science Experiment"

Singer and rapper Akon’s notable new initiative to provide light to those without it in Africa has been overshadowed by rapper Chris Brown. In a message that could be construed as support written by Brown, he also slammed Bruce Jenner’s transition into Caitlyn Jenner. Brown referred to Caitlyn as a “science experiment”, complaining that her story shouldn’t be receiving all of the media attention, but rather Akon’s should instead be the focus of the news.

Chris Brown can’t stay out of the drama. Hours after it was reported he got into a screaming match with ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, he posted an inflammatory post about Caitlyn Jenner, who recently revealed she was a transgender woman.

The picture seemed innocent enough, at first. Brown, 26, wrote that rapper Akon helped pay for solar power for millions of Africans. But then things took a negative turn when he said Jenner’s transition was bigger news than Akon’s. He also referred to Jenner as “that science project.”

This is the full text on the picture he posted: “Shout out to Akon! He is about to supply 600 million Africans with solar power. I’m really upset that this isn’t major news, but that science project Bruce Jenner is #Society.”

Kylie Jenner, Caitlyn’s youngest daughter, quickly fired off a response in the comment section on Brown’s page. “Not very nice to say about your friend’s dad,” she said. Though she didn’t address Brown directly, she seemingly directed her Twitter post to him. “State what you want about the world without bashing others. Leave a positive impact,” she said.

YouTube star Tre Melvin, who has 464,000 Twitter followers, also hit back. “I’ve stood up for u in spite of your shenanigans one too many times and that stops here. You are trash,” he said. “I cannot physical and/or mentally express just how f—ing pissed I am right now.”

In truth, Akon launched the “Solar Academy” through the Akon Lighting Africa initiative, which will help engineers and entrepreneurs develop the skills needed to create solar power, Reuters reported. With 320 days of sunshine in Africa a year, solar energy is ideal. “We have the sun and innovative technologies to bring electricity to homes and communities. We now need to consolidate African expertise,” Samba Baithily, who helped found Akon Lighting Africa with Akon and Thione Niang, told Reuters.
