Sen. Hawley: Majority of Security Working Trump Rally Were Not Trained Secret Service Agents

Fact checked by The People's Voice Community

Most of the security working the Trump rally in Butler Park, Pennsylvania were not Secret Service agents, but rather “inexperienced” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents, according to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).

Sen. Hawley revealed the disturbing information in a letter sent to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Friday demanding answers on the attempted assassination attack on President Trump on Saturday.

Secret Service whistleblowers have notified Sen. Hawley that they were stood down for the rally and a majority of the security officials working on the Butler Park rally were not trained Secret Service personnel but were with the Homeland Security Investigations team.

Astonishingly, government officials were treating the attempted assassination as a “loose” security event, meaning the usual protocol was not followed. For example, canines were not used at entry points and to detect threats and only two snipers were protecting the president.
