Bill Maher: Trump Admin Is Circus Show Shafting The Audience

Comedian Bill Maher says watching the Trump administration circus is no longer any fun.

He says the wheels are coming off the Donald Trump presidency, and “we’re all in the back of the car.”

The host of HBO’s political talk show, Real Time with Bill Maher, has made a serious observation about the Trump Administration, whom he likens to a circus.

On Friday night’s show, Mahler said people are being screwed big time while watching the Trump show.

The likes of Scott Pruitt being named to run the EPA, or Sarah Palin named for Canadian ambassador, are nothing more than distractions.

While you’re watching the clown screw the pony, they’re breaking into your car.

The Huffington Post reports:

The “Real Time” host admitted it was “fun to watch the wheels come off the Trump car” — using the president’s 77-minute “brain fart” of a news conference the previous day as an example. But it was only amusing “until we remember we’re riding in the back,” said Maher. “Then it’s not so fucking fun any more.”

Maher described the touting of Sarah Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate and former Alaska governor, as ambassador to Canada as merely one of several distraction tactics.

“While you’re watching the clown screw the pony, they’re breaking into your car,” said Maher.

As examples of the things people are being distracted away from, he cited the confirmation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s longtime adversary Scott Pruitt as its new chief and Michael Flynn’s resignation as national security adviser amid allegations he discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with the Russian ambassador in the weeks before Trump took office.bill maherbill maher

  1. Bill Maher, you don’t speak for the vast majority of American’s as proven in the election results and who sits in the oval office. I recall your God mocking video and now your continual attacks on the POTUS. So may I assume that you agreed with everything that former POTUS Obama did? I bet you did, so kindly me to shed some truth on that for you:
Obama’s administration “willfully perpetrated a deliberately misleading and incomplete narrative.” To ensure re-election.
    • State department officials, including Ambassador Stevens, made numerous requests for increased security to protect our people in Benghazi.
    • Those requests went to individuals at the highest levels of our government.
    • Those requests were systematically denied.
    • Indeed, security protections were reduced, the exact opposite of recommendations coming from experts on the ground.
    • American government officials at the highest levels were warned about terrorist aggression in Benghazi, and the likelihood an attack was imminent.
    • Ambassador Stevens traveled from Tripoli to Benghazi in September of 2012 in order to forward the cause of formalizing and stabilizing the diplomatic mission in Libya, according to orders from Sec. Clinton.
    • Government officials at the highest levels knew within hours that the 9/11/12 attack was perpetrated by identifiable terrorists. Yet those officials purposefully lied to the American people, blaming the attack on a protest that got out of hand, based on rage over an offensive video. Even the Libyan president confirmed the attack was terrorist-inspired, planned, and executed; and it had nothing to do with an offensive video.
    • The terrorism response team was not even activated.
    • Four Americans died trying to defend themselves and fellow Americans doing legitimate work in Benghazi. They called for help. Help was denied by government officials at the highest levels, even though resources were available.
    • Upwards of 30 other Americans who survived have been locked down, sequestered, and silenced for eight months.
    • Thanks to remarks by American government officials at the highest levels, the Libyans were not cooperative in the immediate post-attack period, delaying FBI ability to visit and secure the crime scene for almost three weeks.
    • State department personnel wanted to come to the rescue of Americans under attack in Benghazi. But the military was ordered to stand down for no apparent reason, at least not one that has been articulated thus far by the Administration.
    • House oversight officials, including Chairman Darrell Issa, tried numerous times to invite the cooperation of the Obama Administration in the effort to investigate and determine the truth. Chairman Issa reports that the Administration did not cooperate; but indeed, the Administration stonewalled.
    • Whistleblowers who gave testimony yesterday contradicted the Obama Administration’s version of events. These are credible witnesses, career State Department officials with no political agenda. They testify further that when they tried to speak the truth about these matters, they were met with very negative reactions from Administration authorities and superiors who obviously wanted to silence and discredit them.
    • The President knew almost immediately that the attack was perpetrated by terrorists; yet he misrepresented the cause for weeks after the event, blaming the video. The President never spoke to Hillary Clinton the night of the attack. Instead, he had dinner and prepared for a campaign trip. We still don’t know who actually issued the stand-down order.
    • Hillary Clinton must have known about the serious security threat in Benghazi as well as the requests for improvements in security but denied that knowledge during her testimony, shirking responsibility and hiding behind subordinates, blaming them.
    • At least two parents of sons lost in Benghazi place the blame for their deaths squarely on the shoulders of the President and the Secretary of State at the time.
    • The President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, and the Vice President promised the parents of the slain that there would be full disclosure. That was eight months ago. The parents are still waiting for that promise to be kept.

All this points to one inescapable conclusion: from the President on down, there was and is a concerted effort to cover up certain details about this tragedy. And those details are so terrible that the Administration is willing to lie and threaten victims and whistleblowers to hide the truth from the American people.

4 Broken Obamacare Promises That Town Hall Protesters Should Remember
While the House and Senate plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, members of Congress are hosting town hall meetings with their constituents and have been greeted by hostile crowds. These folks seem to have amnesia about Obamacare’s glaring failures. Here’s a quick refresher on Obamacare’s top four broken promises:

    1. Costs are exploding. President Barack Obama promised that his reform proposal would cut typical family costs by $2,500 annually. That, of course, never materialized. The typical family today pays about 35 percent of their income for health care. The small group and individual insurance markets were hit hard by big premium increases. An eHealth report concluded that from 2013 to 2017, the average individual market premium increases were 99 percent for individuals and a jaw-dropping 140 percent for families. Costs have also increased for those with employer-sponsored insurance, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, from 2010 to 2016, average family premiums for employer-sponsored plans nearly increased 32 percent. Higher premiums are not the only shock. Out-of-pocket costs in the Obamacare exchanges, particularly deductibles, have been stunning. HealthPocket analyzed that for the lowest tier bronze plans in 2017, the average deductible for an individual is $6,092 and $12,383 for a family.

    2. Competition and choice are declining. Obama told America his proposal would increase competition in the health insurance markets but that hasn’t happened either. On Tuesday, news broke that Humana will be leaving the Obamacare exchange markets next year. This was just the latest in a growing list of insurers who are jumping ship from this massive public policy failure. Town hall audiences should take a good look at county-level data. A new Heritage Foundation analysis found that Obamacare’s exchanges, in their fourth year of operation, offer Americans little health insurer choice. The downward slide in competition means that in 2017, consumers in 70 percent of U.S. counties are left with just one or two insurer options on the exchanges. The 70 percent figure is way up from 36 percent in 2016.

    3. Forget about keeping your plan. Perhaps the most famous health care promise of all, Obama’s promise: “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan.” In fact, there were 37 instances where Obama or a high-ranking administration official repeated that infamous promise to keep you plan and your doctor. Rarely has there been such a disconnect between rhetoric and reality. In 2014, the first year that Obamacare was fully implemented, the Associated Press reported that there were at least 4.7 million canceled policies across 30 states. The law’s insurance rules and mandates forced many insurers to cancel plans that people liked and wanted. Sadly, the disruption only continued from there. For example, hundreds of thousands of people signed up for plans offered by insurers under Obamacare’s co-op program. But 18 out of 23 of these federally-funded insurers have already collapsed, meaning taxpayers are highly unlikely to be repaid the more than $1.9 billion in loans they received—not to mention the thousands of co-op enrollees that lost their health care plans, some in the middle of the year. Not exactly a proud moment in public policy.

    4. No, you can’t necessarily keep your doctor. Obama promised patients that they would be able to keep their doctors. For many patients, that also turned out to be untrue. Obamacare’s rising costs, and its limited flexibility in federally fixed benefit designs, resulted in plans resorting to narrow provider networks. Narrow networks limit access to doctors and other medical professionals as a way to contain costs.
Enough is enough. For seven years, Obamacare has proved to be one giant bundle of broken promises and policy failures. Congress needs to get serious—quickly—and repeal Obamacare. This is a crucial first step in moving America toward the patient-centered health care system our country deserves.

  2. So what has Mr Maher done to make American lives better? He sits in a studio and tries to be funny as he trolls everyone and everything that is good in America. He’s not funny, he has an audience of like minded cretins that laughs or gasps at his diatribes. I can’t tell the difference. Donald Trump, had this country producing and making money for 4 years. He’s a 100 times more of a man than Bill Maher, ever will be. Yes I will watch all 4 of his rallies this week. He’s real, while Mr Maher, is a real ass.
