Reports of a massive fire breaking out at the historical Randolph Hotel in Oxford has been pouring in via social media.  The hotel has plumes of thick, black smoke blasting through the roof and red flames of fire are also visible.  The Randolph Hotel fire has been blazing since 16:30PM and seems to be growing, according to both RT and BBC News.

According to reports from the BBC:

Firefighters have been battling the flames at The Randolph on Beaumont Street since about 16:30 GMT. The street has been closed both ways to allow emergency services access to the building.

Eyewitnesses have reported thick black smoke plumes coming from the vicinity of the Victorian gothic building.

Anabel Bacon told the BBC smoke “came erupting out of the hotel”.

Ms Bacon, who was on the roof terrace of the Ashmolean Museum opposite the 5-star hotel, said the smoke “stopped very quickly so we thought it was over, and then all of a sudden it resumed again with just as much force”.
